Tim sent me this link to a wikiHow about making flip flops from a recycled yoga mat - it looks really easy and it looks like you can get several out of one mat, depending on the mat thickness. Thanks, Tim!
Craftstylish has a really nice two-part tutorial on making a t-shirt quilt (one, two) - it’s a neat way to keep visiting those favorite t-shirts after they’re too worn to be worn. I think I’ll have to do this with my son’s favorite-yet-outgrown t-shirts, rather than just save them in a box. (via WhipUp)
Well, underwear made from recycling t-shirts. If you are handy with a sewing machine, you can make cute underwear like Amy of Angry Chicken did.
Tim says his wife told him about the Sears KidVantage Club - they offer discounts on purchases of kids clothing, plus they will replace clothes that wear out before they’re outgrown.
Webs, one of my favorite online yarn places, is having their 35th anniversary sale - there are some really good deals.
I found some great warm stuff this year for both me and the kidlet at Sierra Trading Post. They used to be strictly outdoors/rec clothing, but they’ve branched out into home items, bedding, work clothes and the occasional cute clothing item. You have to poke around a bit for the real deals.
